Thinking behind the locked door
Aesthetic chase 01: A locked blue heavy metal door transcending along a dry, single toned solid landscape.
A sunny afternoon in the autumns of Jabal Akdhar; a sleepy
village in the high terrains of Oman. I came across this locked door. Maybe it
has been shut down for ages but the lock looked new and shining. I felt a life
behind the blue heavy metal. The shyness of newlyweds, the silent respect of a woman
tendering to her husband and kids or maybe the accustomed middle aged couple
living a conditioned life, I didn’t know if I was searching for an answer to
the kind of life. Maybe because the door looked so life-like and was giving
away the sense of calling.I was thinking beyond the closed doors. Although a
locked door is sometimes a sign to let go, I was caught by it… The abstract aesthetics
Abstract in itself is self-explanatory. Aesthetics - the life behind the doors and the blunt geometry. The geometry on the door drew out a pattern like the one you
would find on the ceramic tiles. I sat to abstract it like below. It turned into a regular geometric pattern- the blunt conclusion.
But Abstract aesthetics is also like a journey into a conclusion you want to draw. Sometimes its clear, at times not. You'd have to often chase for the adventures that lie beyond the solid energies that appear before you. And for them to appear before you, you need to seek them, divulge in them and maybe silently meditate your energy into it.
The pure geometry in vibrant colours against the dry, aged solid structure is like drawing out an identity amidst the age old beliefs and rules. A blend of old world charm and a new age innocence. An aesthetic combination, I seek to venture beyond the blue heavy metal.
